John Howell has a Master of Arts in Theology and Ministry degree from the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy degree from Loyola University, Chicago.
He teaches theology at a Catholic high school in Arizona, where he lives with his beautiful wife, Gaby, and their two children. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, especially time spent with them praying the Rosary. He also enjoys sports and sees in them a way to serve youth in their relationship with Christ. Currently, he moderates a Catholic high school club called Crossing the Goal, that strives to live according to the motto, "Pray, Play, and Serve."
John is also a member of the Third Order Carmelites, where he serves as a director of a local lay Carmelite community.
He believes praying the Rosary, living out its mysteries, and sharing the Rosary with others will change hearts and hasten the definitive triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Finally, his favorite Scripture quote is, "Behold, your Mother," which reveals that Marian devotion is born from the will of God (John 19:27). As Saint Pope John Paul II said, "The Church’s devotion to the Virgin is not only the fruit of a spontaneous response to the exceptional value of her person and the importance of her role in the work of salvation, but is based on Christ’s will. The words 'Behold, your mother!', express Jesus’ intention to inspire in his disciples an attitude of love for and trust in Mary, leading them to recognize her as their mother, the mother of every believer." (John Paul II, General Audience, May 7, 1997)
